U2 want to follow in the footsteps of their idols The Beatles and release a ‘Rock Band’ video game.
According to NME, Bass player Adam Clayton has revealed he and his bandmates had talks with the makers of the popular video game series last year but initial discussions broke down.

He said: “We definitely would like to be in there. But we felt some of the compromises weren’t what we wanted. That could change.
“I love the idea that’s where people are getting music and we’d love to be in that world. We’ll figure something out.”

The Beatles Rock Band game definately changed the way rock bands are looking on the ever growing video game market as a platform to increase their visibility and popularity. With over 1,000,000 units of The Beatles Rock Band already sold, it make sense that U2 and other rock bands would like to join the party.
Clayton added:”What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn’t want to be caricatured.”
